Leland and Eric met by chance at a small bar off the beaten path during the height of March Madness. Leland hates sports. Eric, a fanatic, was there watching with his boss. Leland (with a touch of liquid courage) approached Eric and managed to distract him from his favorite team. They talked until 4 a.m. and had their first date the next evening. After eight months together, the pair had some friends and family over to celebrate Eric’s birthday. It was a cold evening, so they were all sitting outside around the fire when Eric got down on one knee and popped the question.
The September wedding was held at the home of family of the bride in Pawleys Island. Leland wanted everything to be simple and low key. Pawleys Island has always been her second home, so she couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else. Just close friends and family surrounded the couple on their intimate big day with breathtaking river views as the backdrop. Baby blue, Leland’s favorite, served as her wedding color. After the ceremony and dinner, the wedding party headed out for a magnificent sunset cruise on the bride’s uncle’s yacht, complete with a champagne toast!
